GIZ takes the protection of personal data very seriously. This declaration explains what personal data is stored and what it is used for when you operate TheIntegrityApp.

How we collect your data
The Integrity App: is a digital tool and application for the self-assessment of integrity programmes. Based on the results, the user gets access to information on how to establish a policy to promote integrity in his business.
When you register a profile and use The Integrity App, you directly provide us with the following data:
As part of the registration process, the user's consent to the processing of this data is obtained. TheIntegrityApp will not collect information on impressions, messages, criticisms, and suggestions from the registered person, chat messages and other interactions in TIA.
The data that you enter is your own data that you think is right, and you are fully responsible for the correctness of all data that you enter into our TIA Application.
How we use your data
We process your personal data to enable the access to and functionality of the application or the web version, correct any disturbances you might face, and process your queries and requests in connection with the TIA. For these purposes, we process your registration and profile data and your answers.
Personal and specific data are not shared on to third parties and as a general principle; data will not be transmitted to third parties. Any other use of the data will always be subject to further consent. The data will not be used for advertising purposes. If you do not want us to use your data for our project’s purposes, we will delete it upon your request, unless we are required by law to store your data.
By voluntary entering optional information, you declare your consent to its processing. You can withdraw your consent for future processing by contacting us as described in this data protection statement or consent declaration.
We process your personal data to enable the access to and functionality of the app, correct any disturbances you might face, and process your queries and requests in connection with the Application. For these purposes, we process your registration and profile data, data you enter into the app, your messages and queries as well as technically required device and log usage data.
We offer the app and process your data in the context of our activities in the sphere of international cooperation and development subject to the mandate vested with us.
We process aggregated app usage data to optimize and inform the development of the TIA Application, identify and resolve technical and functional problems in the app and ensure its security (Art. 32 GDPR).
Furthermore, we can be subject to legal obligations requiring us to disclose your data, such as to comply with court orders or the decisions of legitimate government bodies.
Follow up and redirects
Storage and deletion of your data
The data will be processed for as long as the TheIntegrityApp is available unless you request to delete your data. The Application will be maintained until the end of the Project implementation (currently mentioned on the contract by the end of June, 2024) on Netclusive server and access to the back-end data will have also Tiago Sarlo as a GIZ-assigned application developer.
App usage metadata is automatically deleted when the user logs out.
In the case of uninstallation of TIA App from your mobile device, any confidential data and the corresponding app specific credentials will be deleted from the execution environment, the device and any other storage medium. A reasonable period of 3 months from the uninstallation time (inactive session) is expected to process the deletion of data from the execution environment.
In case you withdraw your consent, or we no longer need the data to deliver the app and are not required by law to keep the data, we will erase the data. If your data has been anonymized and can no longer be attributed to you, we can continue to use such data.
Data security
We use and instruct and require our contractors to use appropriate technical and organisational measures to secure data against unintentional or intentional falsification, destruction, loss or access by unauthorised persons. Access to the personal data is restricted to authorised personnel who need to process it for the above-mentioned purpose(s), and who will handle the information provided in a proper and confidential manner.
Child’s privacy
TIA application is not meant for children under the age of 16.
We do not always know that users of our application are under 16 years old. If we learn that the data that we have collected is data from children under the age of 16 and without verification from their parents, we will take steps to delete the data from our system.
Rights of the data subject
You have the following rights:
Please send your revocation by email to: theintegrityapp@giz.de. The data will be deleted accordingly. In the case of consent revocation, it might be not possible to use the app or its certain functions, such as when you revoke certain app authorizations for media access.
If you have any questions or complaints about this website, you can contact the data protection officer. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection supervisory authority. The responsible authority is the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (BfDI).
Changes to this Policy
We can update this Privacy Policy from time after time.
You are advised to review this Policy periodically for each change.

Declaration of Consent for user on the storage and use of personal data by GIZ/The Integrity App. As the protection of personal data is very important to GIZ, this declaration explains what data relating to the users is stored and the purpose for which it is used.
Names, organisation and function as well as email address and other personal data that are/were transmitted in connection with signing in on TIA are stored and used to follow-up on capacity increase.
GIZ will use the services of Tiago Sarlo and of Netclusive server as an implementation contractor and data processor subject to the instructions of GIZ.
Your data is used solely for obtaining information for producing supportive content. This also means the sharing of statistics. Personal and specific data are not shared on to third parties and as a general principle; data will not be transmitted to third parties.
GIZ uses appropriate technical and organisational measures to secure your data against unintentional or intentional falsification, destruction, loss, or access by unauthorised persons.
Access to your personal data is restricted to GIZ staff within the “Alliance for Integrity”, who need to process the data for the above-mentioned purpose(s), and who will handle the information you provide in a proper and confidential manner.
The data will be used exclusively for the declared purposes. Any other use will always be dependent on your consent being obtained again. The data will be stored until the official end of the project (currently mentioned on the contract by the end of June, 2024) on Netclusive server following the completion of the purpose for which it was collected.
The person signing this declaration is entitled to enquire about his/her personal data, to have the data corrected if necessary, and to demand that the data be erased. The data will then be erased. The consent given to use personal data can also be revoked at any time
